OK, I return to the states next Friday and pick up my 2005 LE on Monday. I sprang for the "Infinity 6 Speaker Premium Pacakge" when I ordered my KJ. Does anyone have this option? Opinions?

What exactly do I get for my $$$? The salesman wasn't sure, and the Jeep web site is less than specific!

I've seen discussion about adding a sub, necessary?? I listen mostly to straight up rock. (Rush, Zeppelin, Tool etc....)

You get 2 infinity dash tweeters and 4 infinity door speakers. Also the front door speakers have amps attached to them.

It is a very nice system, however it could use a tad more bass.

This is easily fixed with a infinity bass link or the mopar subwoofer helps a little-but isn't ubber powerful.

But for the most part it does a nice job.

Is the premium Inifinity system already wired to add the basslink? How difficult of an install?

No, but it is pretty simple. Honestly, I think you'll be plenty happy with the stock system as is, but if not you can always add it later. The basslink simply connects to the stock deck with a speaker level input connection-which also turns the sub on and off automatically as well. So there are no switches to be run.

Thanks for the info. I'll let you know next week after I pick her up from the dealer and play "Back in Black." a few times through.

I haven't been back to the States in 3 years and I'm more excited about the damned KJ!

speaker swap

Hi -- newbie here... I just got my Libby a week ago today and the FIRST thing I did was swap out the speakers and stereo. I know some probably like the factory stuff (mine is an '02), but I thought it kinda sounded sad. So i had the Infinity speakers put in (along with a sweet JVC that plays mp3 etc), & lemme tell ya ... go for the Infinity speakers! All the difference in the world! And p.s. Havent tried Back In Black yet..... but Hells Bells BOOMED! ;)

I have the Infinity premium and I'm very happy with it. The speakers in the dash they call tweeters are actually small paper cones that aren't really capable of producing higher frequencies like a decent tweeter. There are links on various Liberty forums (maybe here?) to easily swap the paper for real tweeters in the dash. This made a MAJOR IMPROVEMENT in the sound. I have a dvd player and Xbox hard wired through my stock HU and Halo, dvd concerts, Dave Chappelle's show, movies etc. sound great.

I also added the OEM sub under the driver's seat which helped a lot. It doesn't pound but that really isn't what I want to accomplish.
