Post up your oil weight, brand and size of oil filter and what viscosity you use.
Do you use synthetic or Dino oil? Do you use any oil additives?

I will start..

As of now I have used Castrol GTX dino oil and crap OEM mopar filters. I now am planning on flushing out the dino with a change of Amsoil synthetic SAE 5w-30 and a SDF34 Amsoil filter.

WHat are you all using?

oil/filter choice

2005 Renegade 3.7 w/automatic with 5500 miles

Have had two changes at dealership, both Mobil1 5w30
with Mopar filter. They rotate tires every other time.
I will do this during the warranty period. The cost is
$56 + $10 for the 5 tire rotation. It seems the Mobil1
is costing me a $30 premium. How ever every 5th service
is suppose to be free. The first change was my chouice at
1000 miles. Then every 3000 to protect the warranty.

I suprised that nobody really does extended drains on their oil.

Has anyone ever had an oil analysis done on thier KJ? THis next oil change I will be getting one done, and of course I will post up results.

I plan on running amsoil next with 7500 mile oil analysis. Depending on what the oil analysis says, I would like to push to at least 15k drain interval.

Sounds crazy right?

Its easy to forget about. I like the idea of extended drains, but I won't trust the oil untill I see a analysis that backs the extended drain.

I'm using Mobil 1 5w-30 and Fram Extended filter, I change every 10,000 miles. no problems after 45,000 on my KJ or 190,000 on my XJ. I do not do much stop and go or city driving, most of my trips are more than 10 miles at a time, so this "easy" driving lets me get away with this

Not really....the CRD's have a 12,500 mile "A" and 6,250 "B" schedule for their oil changes. I'll be using the factory fill of 0W40 Mobil 1 and most likely an OEM filter...not sure if anyone even offers another oil filter for the CRD's yet.
