Does anyone know of a mod to allow the driving lights to stay on while the high beams are on? I love the combination of the low beams and driving lights on at the same time. The high beams seem like they need some filler that would be provided if the driving lights stayed on.

Thanks,
Dan

How did you wire the driving lights? if you tapped into the OE headlight wiring rather than just to a switch then it should be simple to fix. Technically driving lights should ONLY be used with high beams if you were to follow the letter of the law...

I'm talking about the OE fog/driving lights. The ones that come on when you pull out on the headlight switch. It seems like each manufacture does it different. On a Ford F150, the driving lights only come on when the headlights are on. On the Liberty, the fog lights can be turned on w/o the headlights, but go off when the headlights are on high beam.

Well two things, there is no such product that is both a fog and a driving light - its an either or thing. And the OE lights on the '02-'04s below the turn signals are fog lights. Now that we've got that covered, it is illegal to run your fog lights with your hi beams (every state has a similarly worded law concerning this).

If you would like to do this still there are some comapnies that sell products to effectivly jump the wiring, or you could just find where the specific wires are (a web search should help in figuiring out which you'd need). IMHO though because your trying to make something its not - ie a fog light (designed only to illuminate the ground at a very low level just in front of the car) into a driving light (designed to illuminate stuff far from the vehicle at normal headlight (hi beam) level) your best bet would be to either remove the OE fogs and replace them with a driving light (I've heard of people using Hella's FF200 light for this) or adding a driving light to the front bumper. Either of these last options will allow you to wiring them such that they can be used at any time regardless of low/hi beam setting.

I dont know about the FACTORY fog lights (mine are add-on, but Mopar) - there is one wire that taps to the low beams. After some discussion with people who know more about this than I, if I were to tap this wire to the parking lights instead, the foglights would be usable any time the parking lights were on.

I may do this at some point, but for now mine work only with low beams.
