I know I was just complaining about the front seats. But, the things I really like about the Liberty far out weigh whatever complaints I can come up with.

The Liberty had strong competition. I was thinking about keeping my old '93 Ranger 4x4 and getting a new Jetta TDI. But the Liberty just gets the juices flowing a bit more than the idea of a Jetta.

So, last night I ordered a Limitied CRD 4x4 package G. Color - Light Khaki Exterior, Dark Khaki/Light Greystone interior. The only options I didn't order were the cargo organizer and the smokers group.

Now, the question is - What accessories do I want?

First things that come to mind:

-Light Bar
-Graphite rims

Anyway, the dealer tells me it won't be delivered until probably June or July.

Go for the light bar for sure. As far as the rims go, I like mine but they are a pain in the ass when they fill with snow or mud.

When I got my limited the dealers prep shop talked me out of buying them. They said that they were willing to take the loss because of installation problems:ie leaks/etc...

I actually LOVE how bennet has the roof rack with the lights on his alot more.

Bennet...Have you had any problems with your fog light setup? Cost? Any how to? Did you need to change the alternater?

I most definitely want to add the roof rack/fog light combo to my jeep in the future.

Any other opinions?

Ed.

Good luck getting it. I ordered one March 12, 2005 and only a few weeks later was told the plant was "built-out" for April....then I was told the same thing about 1 week ago, except for the plant was "built-out" for May. My dealer was about to dealer trade one from Bloomington, IN until one exactly like I ordered (sans Tire Pressure Monitoring) showed up at a dealer in Flemingsburg, KY. I drove it home Thursday...I decided to go for it as I had $500 in Jeep Owner Loyalty cash expiring May 2nd, in addition to a 2006 price increase, and the going away of the 7/70 powertrain warranty.....man they're schweeeet. \:D/

That is really strange that your dealer told you that....I ordered my CRD Sport on April 9 and it has an estimated ship date of April 29!! I don't know if it makes a difference that mine is a sport and yours is a limited...dont think it will though! Humph...makes me want to call early on Monday to check the status of mine again!!! :-k

It will be worth the wait when you order, but they're hard to find. My wife has already racked up 218 miles on hers and she's still grinning from ear to ear. It took a while to get her to consider the diesel aspect of it, but after my 2003 Dodge RAM 2500 Crew Cab 4x4 CTD constantly got better fuel economy than her '02 Liberty Sport 4x4 3.7L, it wasn't too hard.

ok that gas mileage pic caught my attention. I am thinking about getting another Liberty after the first of the year and don't know much about diseal engines. Would you guys mind educating me? Some of my questions are;
How easy are they to work on?
How does the performance stack up against the 3.7?
Is there an increase in noise ride discomfort?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I can't answer how difficult they are to work on, as mine only has 218 miles. \:D/ However, they require 6.4 quarts of 0W40 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic (excluding filter capacity) and the service interval "A" is every 12,500 miles and the service interval "B" is every 6,250 miles. The fuel filters aren't due to be changed until the 25,000 mile mark. The 2.8L CRD's are rated at 160 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque....I think they pull great and cruise great with the 5 speed auto and the VGT turbo. You'll find a little "clatter" at idle when the engine is cold and less as the engine warms up....almost no noise at cruising speeds, at least not much noiser than a 3.7L. Go find one on a lot and test drive it.....you'll be impressed.

If I take a test drive I'll probably want to make the purchase too soon, and I'll get all the follow up calls from the sales guy.

When I test drove one about a month ago, it was very nice. Like he says, almost no noise at cruising.

Looking uder that hood, I would be scared to check the oil, I thought mine was bad enough (Aeh)

No more difficult than the 3.7L V6.....It's really quite simple....the yellow handled dipstick closest to the firewall is the transmission dipstick; the one about midway down to the right side of the top engine cover is the engine oil dipstick. If you look slightly to the right and a little below the engine oil dipstick you'll see the fuel filter. (Aeh)
