I'm in the same boat. I don't hear it if the music is loud enough or have the bass not so high, but normally if I am just sitting around in my garage I just pop the rear window.

Subwoofers remind me of a story... A guy came over to my house. He had a subwoofer in the back of his rice burner that shook the car. It was nothing but pure distortion! I took him inside to my home stereo (my roommate at the time worked for an upper end stereo shop... thanks Dan!). Anyway, I put on a DDD Telarc CD (which is about as good as a CD as you can get). It was beautiful. His mouth about dropped at the difference. Subwoofers are okay, but clearity is where it's at.

Now when my neighbor comes up to a car at a stop light that is "bothering him", he drops his hand on his XJ's horn until he can't hear it, lol.

I actualy have an entire upgraded stereo system, including new cd player, and new speakers and tweeters powered by a seperate amp. His Subwoofer probably sounded terrible because he bought it at bestbuy. I have a very highend subwoofer that has so of the lowest distortion you can buy. http://www.reaudio.com/ if you want high end equipment.

Yeah, I would definately get some dynamat. My 1st car was an 87 dodge aries, and I had 2 12" JL subwoofers in a custom box sitting in the wheelwell, and the trunk rattle was sooooo bad that all you heard was trunk rattle and no base on the inside. After a sheet of dynamat strategically cut and placed in various spots, and I had NO TRUNK RATTLE whatsoever.....Definately worth the investment in a sheet of that stuff \:D/
