I had absolutely not one thing to do today (first time in a long time). So I decided to spend the entire day and just detail the crap out of the KJ, top to bottom, side to side, every square inch, it really needed a good thorough cleaning.

But before that, I went and got a news paper and some breakfast this morning, and it was rather nice out, so I was riding with the windows down and the sunroof open. Everything was fine and dandy. Came home, ate my food, and went out side to start washing the KJ. Rolled the windows up, hooked the pressure washer up, and proceeded to hose her down. Started from the roof and worked my way down, nice and wet, get all the loose dirt off.

I then proceed to start soapin her down. I got about half way done with the back half of the roof and the though hit me "Oh SHIT!!!! MY SUNROOF IS STILL OPEN!!!!!!!!" Keep in mind, I had already blasted the entire Jeep with water from a pressure washer. So I opened the door up in a hurry only to find my entire center console soaking wet, most of the driver's seat, passenger seat, and around the gear selector. I got my shammy and wiped down all the plastic that got wet, and closed the door and didn't open it again for a few hours, to let the heat from the sun (got to be 70º by the end of the afternoon) just bake everything inside. Needless to say, I didn't have to clean the interior today (except for vacuuming it). But the seats dried very quickly in the heat!

So the moral of the story kids, always, and I mean ALWAYS triple check to make sure your windows doors, and sunroof(s) are closed ALL THE WAY.

LOL Its ok...I was driving my Honda Prelude back 10 years ago or so with the moon roof open, a big B-train chip truck met me and at the same time hit a huge puddle of water on the road... lets just say the entire inside was soaked pretty good...including me. smashfreakB.gif

Close 'Em Up!

I wish I had a buck for every time I've washed my Jeep with the windows all open unseen under the VentVisors. Only with a hose though, not a pressure washer.

I've left my sunroof in the vented position a couple times now overnight in rainy Oregon. Thank goodness for the gutter system built into the sunroof! And it got a little wet inside but not bad...
