Ok this is directed to all the guys over seas. Have any of you modified your diesel engines such as Air intakes, Exhuast, Propane Injection, any add ons or websites available? I'm having trouble find out who actually manufactures this engine is it DC? Its manufactures in Italy right?. Other than that I'm have no luck. This thing has alot of potential. Yes I know its a sickness. \:D/ \:D/ 8-[

Thanks for the info I read the posts and it made me laugh when they started bickering about MPG. I'm getting the 19 to 22 MPG in town and get about 26 on highway. but I only got like 500 miles on the engine. It relly dosn't matter though I'm sure if I dropped the rear to a lower gear than a 3.73 I'd be getting better gas mileage but then the thing would be a dog. Its all about the ratios ROFL...

I'm really curious to hear how the CRD sounds. You wouldn't by chance have a video camera or some other method of recording sound would ya whilrwind?

Whirlwind, please post more about what you think of your CRD. I am thinking about adding another KJ to the family... and the CRD would be it if I did. Please keep us updated on your mpg as well. =D>

I'll see what I can do about the sound. I can tell you this its a little louder in the cab then outside believe that or not. its about a third as loud as a Diesel truck. I'm also averaging around 26 highway and 23 city unless I'm really on it then I'm averaging around 20 to 22 MPG.

Believe me I'm 31 and this is my 12th vehicle. I just got rid of a 2002 Avalanche had a 1998 S10 Blazer before that, and my father has owned trucks all his life has had a new Dodge Ram or Dakota every 3 to 4 years. He never owned a diesel in his life and bought his first Wrangler last year. He love it but after taking a ride and driving mine he loves it and swears if they ever offer the engine package in a Wrangler he will have one.

I don't know what else to tell you guys other than if your thinking of getting another KJ this is going to be the way to go. I absolutely cannot wait to get this thing crawling off road even though its so pretty being a Black Limited, but I knew I wouldn't be able to order exactly what I wanted. So I decided to take one year do the exterior and then do the drivetrain and lift a year later.

I am fast falling in love with this vehicle and I'll probably keep this one unless they offer a 6 cylinder turbo diesel then I'll just transfer all the parts lol. I promise this weekend I'll take some pics of it inside and out and Under the hood without the shroud.

Diesel engine tuning is pretty limited. I have chipped mine (2.5 CRD) and it gets better fuel economy and has even better torque for offroading. But it's harder to drive smoothly as the gear (manual) tends to snatch a little.

CRDs just plain ROCK!!! I want one. Someday, someday, maybe.

I love diesels since you can really get a lot of power of them without a lot of work.
