My water pump blew while I was at a stop light (didnt overheat) but sprayed coolant all over. Back in the day theory was the older green coolant would eventually eat away at any belts that got sprayed. Anyone know if the newer vehicle specific coolants will do this? I'm picking up a pump today...
Thanks. Looking at different threads here that seemed to be the only real difference. The '02 I'm looking at has a manual gearbox (one of the reasons I'm interested in it) and almost no rust. I'll still get it looked over but auto trannys seem to have been bad luck for me the last few years
Sorry if this is considered a treadjack but I'm also looking at getting an '02 liberty sport. I already own an '04 lib sport so I was wondering are there any real differences mechanically or otherwise? I really don't like to buy anything of the first model year but the price has me interested...
Recent purchaser of an older ('04) Liberty, looking forward to learning some tips and tricks of the trade. Maybe eventually I'll be able to give some insight instead of needing it. Ill probably even post a pic in my profile once I figure out how.
Thanks to all in advance.
