      Well you may have the shock upside down (black boot should be at the top)...

      Mine already had a sleeve in the bottom mount of the bilstein shock so I just needed one in the top.

      SO I just pressed out the ones from the stock shock, more or less cut away the rubber bushing with a razor blade and used channel locks to press it out.

      Then once its out there will be rubber stuck to it so I used a bench mounted wire wheel to clean it up to shinny metal.

      I then pressed it into the top mount of the Bilstein. The sleeve is wider than the mount so there and mine fit perfectly in the frame mount with no gap on either side.
