Does it do it right after starting the jeep? 6 beeps = service reminder The beeps are a service reminder meaning your Jeep needs service (oil and filter change). 2006 kj sport Transmission shifts right 1-3 but goes into 4-6 very fast. Some shutter if you accelerate slowly.
I had a similar issue with the same symptoms as you described and no codes. I did a transmission flush and filter. This did not help but it needed changing anyway. The Black ones are on a 04 and the grey are on a 05. The Black ones are over 10 years old and still looks new. But I do take care of them with conditioner. The Grey are 3 years and I take care of those also and look new. The 04 seats are rounded at the top and the 05 are square.- Jeeper-Creeper

Antifreeze Smell and No Leaks ???
My Moms Liberty had the same problem a few years back. For a whole year she complained about the bad smell and would not run the heather or AC because of it. Torque Converter or whole transmission?
Overfilling is bad. However when you added more fluid your symptoms got better not worst. If it were overfilled i would assume that you would have other issues, like overheating, foaming, not changing gears properly, and even fluid leaking or even leaking out the vent tube. I suggest doing what LibertyTC said. I had the same issues like you. Mine started right after I had it serviced due to a leak in the pan. -The surging at stops, In turns felt like slipping before engaging, Hesitation, Felt like no power going up hill.
