Hi everyone. Brand new here with my “new” KK. I’d like to put a set of 5x5 Willys wheels on and obviously need adapters. Does anyone know what the appropriate spacer I need is? Everything is stock. In addition, what size tire can I put on without any issues but will still look good with a 2.5” lift? I was thinking 235/65/17??

Why not install wheels that actually fit and fit right ? Just curious
Just need adapter from 4.5 to 5 inch, but if you must use spacers buy the best you can, so many cheapos out there
235-65-17 is a pretty small tire but depends on what lift you installed
What kind was it full spring OME or a spacer lift ?

No lift yet. Id like to get black rims and like the look of wrangler willys rims and can’t beat $350 for a set of 5. Id like to get the tallest/widest tire that’ll work without cutting, bending, etc. In regards to the adapter, I wanted to get the width closest possible to the lug length without cutting in case I go back to stock. I understand adapters are not ideal but this will not be wheeled hard. I was thinking billet, lug centric, correct?

Doesn't matter if you wheel or not
Do you know the force that wheels get pounded with on a daily basis on the streets ?
Yes new Wrangler wheels are cheap in a way since no one wants them
You can find 03-06 Wrangler Moabs that fit the KJ/KK good for less than that many times
I just picked up 5 for 200 bucks
As far as a lift , no answer on what you are getting so no one can really tell you what size tires will actually work without knowing
And without a lift, and adding spacers etc almost any size tire will rub when turning

reason no one can tell you tire size is due to if you go with a cheap spacer lift you may get a inch of lift over new stock height due to weak springs
BUT of you go say OME 927s in front you will get 2.5 inches of lift over new stock height
so that will change what size tire you can run
Make sense to you ?

If you think my answer to you being a sss , then you do not know me at all \I was being nice and most importantly honest
I do not beat around the bush
The wheels you are using are everywhere since even the wrangler owners dislike them
I have a set in my shop right now , and he wants 200 for all 5 just to get rid of them
Not saying they are ugly but a lot of owners dislike them and they do not fit well on several vehicles so are hard to unload
If you want dishonest info, stupid answers and people kissing up, check out Facebook LOL

By the way 235=65-17 was a stock size on a KJ Limited
only 29 inches tall
A full spring OME lift will allow you to run a 30.5 inch tall tire like a 255-65-17 or 245-70-17

Thank you. I apologize then. I took your posts differently…obviously.

Just an add on, I run a 245-65-17 on stock and it comes very close to rubbing. About a little over a 1/4 clearance from the front fender.

I ran high quality 1.25 inch thick spidertrax wheel adapters on an 05 KJ with 5x5 wrangler rims. Had a 30.5 inch tire - 245/75/16 and a 1.5 inch lift. Torqued the inner lugs to 90 ftlbs and outers to 80 ftlbs and did not use the red loctite provided. Checked torque every 6k when I rotated tires and never had a loose inner lug. Another thing to worry about and mess with, but it worked for me.
