2008 jeep liberty was making banging noise while driving took apart the passenger side to get the CV axle out and replace it and the parts that say they are for our jeep are not the same. I can NOT find anywhere with the right part. Can anyone help me and tell me what we are doing wrong? Pics show old part and under the car where it goes and new parts that were shipped to us. Why does ours have such a long rod? Why can't I find the right one... Please help

The right side CV should have two parts: 1) the straight intermediate shaft and 2) the CV axle that is attached to it on the outside. The intermediate shaft should be replaced at the same time as the outer CV because if the splines are bad on it, it will ruin your new CV. It is good that you got both parts.

Looks like the new shaft you have there is for the driver side.
Good spot, duderz7! I didn’t notice that in the 4th photo. Yup, the CV axles are different between drivers and passengers side, and that is the other side’s CV axle.
