Vibration at 100 Mph only when accelerating

The KJ is quite happy doing 100 mph in a straight line and is planted and stable in a straight line assuming everything is mechanically ok, but as other people have said in not so many words, 2 tons of jeep suddenly swerving from one lane to another, for example, to miss somebody pulling out in...

    02 Fuel Filter...........

I have just read on Holmadick's plug wires post that a couple of people mentioned the fuel filter was a serviceable item on the 02's. (Mine is the 2.4 4 Banger) I didn't realise this and after a bit of looking around, I have found the fuel filter part number etc but cant find the time/mileage...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Finally decided on the "In Channel" wind deflectors and very happy with them. They fit well and do what they say on the tin. Nice cut outs near mirrors for visibility and for when the mirrors fold back. The only thing that let them down was the self adhesive strips on them were a bit poo but a...

    2004 204L V-4, Manual Tranny Noise

Yes I think he/she meant they have an In line 4 as opposed to a V4. I spotted that too but didn't want to complicate the issue. Haha. As far as I am aware, they didn't make a V4 for them. Obviously the V stands for the engine configuration as in V shape and the 4 is to signify 4 cylinders, as...

    2004 204L V-4, Manual Tranny Noise

Does it go into gear ok when the Jeep is stationary? Especially reverse? That is normally a good indication that the clutch is disengaging ok. I had a similar shifting issue when I first got my Jeep, also a 2.4 5 speed manual and that turned out to be the dual mass flywheel that was at fault but...

Hi Ry, Just replaced mine a few weeks ago and got great service and good Timken bearings from Rockauto. Can't praise them enough and remember I am in the UK. Ordered on a Friday at 10 pm UK time and arrived at 11 am UK time on the monday morning all the way from the good ole US of A!!!!! I have...

    Wind deflectors..........

Thanks to all for the replies. Might be a bit of a dumb question but regarding the "In channel" ones, what secures them and do they actually fit in the window channel groove, i.e. The window rubs on them when closing the last half inch or do they go between the rubber and door top? Cheers, Steve

    Wind deflectors..........

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has good or bad reports over wind deflectors for the windows? Are the "In channel" ones best or the self adhesive ones? Any wind roar from them? Would appreciate any photos of fronts only and front and rears. Fancying some black tinted ones but a lot of people...

What did you do to your jeep today?

New Tyres On The Boy!! After putting new front wheel bearings on the front, I decided to keep him a bit longer so bought him some new boots. Not the most expensive on the market, but transformed the ride over the nearly worn out Good Year Wranglers that were on. Only been on 3 or 4 days but...

What did you do to your jeep today?

What did you use on them Tom? Is it paint or some sort of Bumper trim wax? Blacking mine is on my wish list which is growing longer by the week! :happy175: Cheers, Steve

    RockAuto Rules !!!!!

Credit where credit is due!! In a recent thread, i mentioned that i had a noise that was either tyres or wheel bearings, unfortunately it turned out to be the latter and after being quoted over £350 each from the UK, and dismissing the ebay ones made from putty, I decided to look at the ones...

    Wheel Bearing Noise?

Thanks all. :smokin: Rotated wheels today and noise is still there somewher but can't pinpoint yet as it's only a gentle whirring at the moment so as there is no other signs of bearing play etc, I might let it develop and may be easier to pinpoint then. Been emailing Rockauto and they do ship to...

    Wheel Bearing Noise?

Hi All, Been out of circulation for a while due to a health hiccup but back to normal now. I have noticed a noise recently which I had put down to wind noise from the roof rack but after taking the roof rack off, the noise is still there. The noise sounds very much like a front wheel bearing or...
