What did you do to your jeep today?

Exciting stuff, new radiator cap as the rubber on the old one was failing causing an air/coolant leak. Then a new battery, thankfully the Duralast Gold I got last time was in 2017 so I got a free replacement. CCA's were low.

What did you do to your jeep today?

194,000 miles and going strong. This past month I've done the following; Catalytic converter replacement. Used a Pacesetter direct fit with great success, be sure to get a new set of flange bolts and brackets. Had a little trouble getting one of the rusted bolts off, air chisels help. Paid $239...

    Muffler Time?

PB blasted the flange last night, WD40 for the hangers, and made sure all the pieces will line up right. Should be a fun little job and my first exhaust replacement to add to my resume lol.

    Muffler Time?

Changed gears, my buddy got a good price at cost for an OEM exhaust full catback. Sitting in the garage now, gonna PB blast the parts tonight and work on it later in the week.

    Muffler Time?

Can pickup a basic muffler with discounts for $50 from AAP. Figure I may just unbolt the flange then cut the pipe on the other side and use muffler clamps. Throw it in call it a day.

    Muffler Time?

Again closing in on 200k, been noticing a smell from the exhaust and around the car while driving. No big smoking issues but when changing the oil I noticed a puddle under the muffler. Not from the top either. Wiped it and it started manifesting again. Seems one of the spot welds or two is...

    06 Intermittent starting

My wife's 05 had a similar issue about a month ago. It would startup fine when cold then after driving a bit or warmed up would hesitate and take longer. Replaced the Crankshaft Position Sensor and solved the issue. Easy part to access but it can be a PITA to work out because of age, being...

Wheel Bearing Time, are these right?

Took a bit of time to do the whole job but it's done, now I just need to do a drain/fill of the differential fluid up front this evening. Passenger side came out easily and was pretty straightforward The screwdriver in the caliper bracket trick worked great! And yes you WILL want to get the...

Wheel Bearing Time, are these right?

Turns out I needed a new drivers CV anyways. Passenger went off/on easily but the drivers is totally seized to the bearing. So I pulled it all out. Napa had a reman for $50 but core is $150! No big but tomorrow I can finish it up when the new one comes in. PITA since I’m gonna try to get away...

Wheel Bearing Time, are these right?

I have a small sledge I use for brake rotors that works well. The tips say to keep one E14 in about 1/3 of the way to protect it when it pops off. I plan on jacking her car up the night before and soaking it all in PB overnight just to be sure.

Wheel Bearing Time, are these right?

Good tip for the 35mm nut, Could save some time doing it myself. I found a great vid on 1A Auto that covers the procedures. Picked up the order for 250 shipped from Rock Auto for Timkens, good to know they are the same regardless of side. Looked on their catalog site and it said the same. As...

Wheel Bearing Time, are these right?

Time to do the fronts, I'm pretty sure it's just the front left but figured with the mileage just do both and be done. Seems a pretty straight forward job, remove brakes, unclip wire harness, 35mm bolt, then the 3 behind and bang it out. Am I missing anything? Also looking for the right parts...

What did you do to your jeep today?

oil changes on both cars, plugs being replaced tonight, air filter for the Liberty. Did the driver side post cat O2 sensor to fix a repeat code and have a Mopar CP sensor on the way. Simple replacement and this should all help with a diagnosed issue.

    Crankshaft Sensor? Hard Startups

Cold start this morning it cranked just fine with no issue. As for the grounding straps, assuming I can just follow the negative cable around to locate or are there specific spot I can locate them? Just want to be sure I'm not missing anything, will definitely check all connections this...

    Crankshaft Sensor? Hard Startups

Our 05 3.7L has developed a hard startup. Battery was replaced last summer, but all day it has a bit of a chug when turning over like it may not want to start. Sometimes takes a second turn of the key but it runs fine when started. No codes, trying to diagnose if it’s a pump or a crank sensor...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Maintenance weekend. Oil change with some Lucas Stop Leak added in, then got around to dealing with the brakes yet again. Front left was doing the grind during both driving and braking. I was pissed because it was the one I just fixed up this past summer where the frozen slide pins required a...

    Power Seat Still Won’t Work

Both front seats do not operate. Heated seats work, power doesn’t. I got a new circuit breaker and replaced the one noted in several other pics. Even unplugged the battery before doing and still nothing. What else would cause both seats to not work, is there a fuse or something under the hood or...

    Brake Noise Diagnosis

But it only happens when braking? I can try to get a camera there, some velcro and my phone maybe.

    Brake Noise Diagnosis

Wheels were all torqued, no wheel vibration when braking. Just this stupid noise that is not affecting the braking performance either.
