Do you have the premium speaker setup? If so they come with amps attached to each front door speaker. Why do you have to give up the rear speakers? The front door and tweeters are connected through a crossover so that they are basically one speaker, so you shouldnt be lossing the rear speakers.
You may not need to get an amp. I would see how it sounds without the amp first. Since you have the premium system, you may need/want to run new speaker wires. I have Infinity Kappa Speakers in my setup.

I just got a set of LEDs myself. Looks like adding a load resistor is much easier than modifing the flasher. I havent picked up the resistor yet, so i have yet to install the LEDs.
