I couldn't agree with you more. However most winch pulls are nowhere near the 6000lb range.
There is another brand out there that sells a higher rating. I think it may be Draw Tite (dont quote me on the name)
Hey. The first pair I made were 1.5 and did not stick out much. Second pair were 2" and more than enough room to stand on. Later I put black grip tape on the top for those rainy days.
Hey there. The hidden hitch rocks. Removes completely so it wont get damaged or stolen and mounts up in just a few minutes. Works from the front OR BACK !!! This can be a huge advantage. Check out my site for some pics.

I used a standard hook the kind you see on the front of a YJ and a strong piece of steel tubing 1/4" thick for the drop down (about 5 or 6"). Works great, super strong and inexpensive. I used to have pics but I'm not sure if I can find them, its been a while.

I've got one. Cheap Canadian Tire brand picked up 7 years ago and been installed in 4 different cars. Still works perfect \:D/
