Rear windshield on 06' Liberty won't close and lock in most of the time.

Wrap the screwdriver tip in duct tape to prevent scratching the paint while prying

    Passenger front window

It sounds like the plastic "worm drive" that the cable runs in to raise and lower the window broke. If the window doesn't move, the plastic bracket it rides on may also be bad. It's an easy fix to install a new window regulator. The kits include the motor as well. Although it sounds like the...

Asking those who have done their own paint job at home

Meticulous prep work is key. This Wrangler was touched up in 2004 (body and wheels). Used spray can car paint of the original color and then clear coat. The original paint is on the back half of the vehicle, the DIY from the door forward, fender and hood (sorry for the dust, this is AZ!). Sand...

What did you do to your jeep today?

There is a not-so-nice joke in Germany that if you purchase a Mercedes, the "right-of-way" comes standard.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Same here in Arizona. No testing. Just pay your registration renewal fees online! There's emissions, but only if you live in a big city, of which there are only two in the entire state.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Loved my little Geo! Mine was the "coupe" with 2 doors. That gas mileage saved me from starving throughout college ! Then I commuted an easy 5 miles a day to work in it for several years. I sold it at 100,000mi in 2005. That's when I bought the current 05 Liberty. I guess my take on vehicles is...

A/C and Cruise Control Vacuum Hoses

On my 2005 KJ, this vacuum line (with red zip tie) broke and it disabled the cruise control and the air flow switch all at once. Replacing the line ($15 part from dealership at the time...years ago) fixed both problems.

New Here, New to Jeeps, New to the 04 KJ I bought last weekend.

Mine had 224,000 miles on it when I took it in. The control arm bushings were no doubt in need of replacement but the arms themselves had very little rust. So they tried to refuse service.

New Here, New to Jeeps, New to the 04 KJ I bought last weekend.

That is exactly what happened. And no, I have not been back to that dealer. I should have written a letter but I was so mad that I probably would have regretted that letter later. Hitch repair went better, I had an aftermarket hitch already and a dealer replaced it with an equivalent approved...

New Here, New to Jeeps, New to the 04 KJ I bought last weekend.

Local dealer made it very difficult to get the control arm recall done as my Jeep was high-mileage and the original control arms were not in bad shape. But I am never going to turn down a free upgrade. First it was "they are out of stock, we don't know when we can do this recall", then when I...

What did you do to your jeep today?

After installing new shocks, control arms and other suspension parts, I heard a loud clunk on the driver's side every time I drove into or out of my driveway, which has a raised curb. Nothing was hitting anything, all bolts were tight. After much head scratching it turned out I had accidentally...

What did you do to your jeep today?

This just happened! 2005 3.7l 4x4. Original engine and transmission. I figure every additional mile from now on is just a gift from the Liberty universe

How to make my 2002 Jeep Liberty 3.7 louder?

Yes, make that engine roar so you can be challenged at every take-off from a red light and lose every time, lol. At least that's what would happen where I live...no state inspection and noise laws are not enforced.

    Door Lock Fail

If the lock actuator in question still works when using the remote button then the problem is not the actuator. May be the single lock/unlock rocker switch in the driver's door that's bad. Unless the other three door locks still work when using that rocker switch in the driver door? That would...

    Door Lock Fail

When you say it still works manually with the key, are you using the button on the remote or the physical key in the lock to unlock? I think they are not on individual fuses so if the other three still work with the remote or the internal rocker switch, it's probably that one lock mechanism...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Dealing with a new set of KJ questions today... 1) What is the proper idle RPM at startup for the 2005 3.7l? Is 1,300 at startup and still sitting idle too high? After a few seconds it then settles at 1,000 while transmission is still in Park. Once in Drive but still idle, RPMs go to about...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I have had to replace the regulators in both rear doors multiple times. First cable problem occured when vehicle was 7 years old. Went with the looped cable design - they are interchangable. There is a bracket with a clip that holds the window glass to the rail that the window glass rides on up...

    THE LEGENDARY P00456 CODE.

Sorry to hear this. This sounds like my struggle last year. Even a smoke test provided no answers. I ended up replacing more evap-related parts, one by one. Gas cap twice, canister, etc. The code went away and then came back each time. The last thing I changed was the molded vacuum harness tube...

Help - how to diagnose a bad catalytic converter?

For those who are still following - after many struggles the P0456 Evap leak has been solved! Another visit to another shop had resulted in no new ideas. I ended up replacing parts one at a time. Figured I might as well since parts are all beyond their lifespan and seem harder and harder to get...
