    Heater Core Line Question

Put the line in today. Word of advice to anyone attempting this, remove the air filter housing and you will have a ton more room to work with and you really can't get the lines in or out w/o doing it. I should have also ordered a set of spring clamp pliers and also a 3/8" drive 8mm hex socket...

What did you do to your jeep today?

A million thanks. Except for one that was 17, knowing there was only 4 holding it on made them easy to find and it only took 2 seconds to find the socket and about another 10 minutes to get the plate resecured after I figured to use a socket extender to support the plate in place while I put...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Ok, any guides on how to do it? Or at least a clear illustration for a beginner to where the bolts are/how many there are? I tried looking today with a endoscope camera, but couldn't see anything, and it's been in the 30's F here, so laying on the parking lot isn't fun, but later today it's...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Replaced the Heater hoses between the thermostat and the heater core. Lost a socket into the skid plate though. Any advice on how to remove while it's on the ground?

    O2 Sensor?

I have this issue sometimes with my Jeep(2003 Libby Renegade), which I am pretty sure has a squanched wire to the heater of Bank 1 Sensor 2 when the engine was replaced. I almost always have a pending fault code of P0141, which is because it heats up slower than the other three, which I can see...

    Heater Core Line Question

Woo-Hoo! Part arrived today, and I have all day tomorrow to work on it. Given the small leak, I only lost about 1 gallon of coolant over the course of a few days, and my temp never went above 206F, so I'm pretty sure I'm safe. I am kind of pissed that the part was sent w/o a box, but I don't...

    Heater Core Line Question

Except the one line has a Y to the coolant recovery tank. There would be no safety valave in the form of the cap.

    Heater Core Line Question

So I seemed to have made a fundamental mistake and by touching the thing, just like a tent in the rain, it's leaking even worse now and since it's flowing down onto the engine body, every time I come to a stop it's like backstage at a Willie Nelson concert . But I also ordered the Dorman set...

    Heater Core Line Question

It was still at operating temp when I looked at it earlier today, so I'm about to go down and look at it now that it is at room temp to see if I can feel the hole. Is it safe to replace the metal hose w/rubber? I always assumed that metal hoses where used where it's high pressure. If so, what...

    Heater Core Line Question

Noticed a small coolant leak the other night which I attributed to a screw hose clamp on the bottom of the tank b/c I could see some coolant at the top end of the hose above the connector. Took it apart last night and re-positioned the hose and made sure the screw clamp was above the barb on...

    Coolant Temp Gauge

On my Dodge 3500 Dualie, the temp is an actual gauge with actual temperature markings on it, 140f, 190f & 230f(in the red). I could tell when the thermostat first opened because the needle would swing down as the coolant from the tank rushed in, especially in winter. I too use Torque Pro...

What did you do to your jeep today?

After spending a night at work b/c the battery died, got a nice new battery under my 36 month replacement. I'm so happy that when the guy asked me to turn it over so he could test the starter and alternator, all it could manage was a solid "CLICK", thus proving that it was clearly DEAD.

    Coolant Temp Gauge

Dummy gauge. I have a OBDII Bluetooth dongle & a cheap tablet that has GPS to run Torque in mine. Gives me a readout for coolant temp. I made a gallery of the gauge position and actual temp it's running with my 03:

    *!#!$* key fob

Do you have an EVIC(the thing above the rearview mirror)? If so, through the setting menu there, you can program FOBS. I have done so to at least 3, all of which came from random Asian countries b/c I wanted glow in the dark keys. That's only the fobs, not the keys. I only have 2 keys, but...

What causes a P0141 or similar O2 sensor heater circuit code?

So I was super excited that earlier this year, the "Emissions & DTS" panel on Torque Pro went from "Incomplete" to "Complete" in Re: Heater circuits, which meant I might have a chance at State Inspection. But Covid was still around and many DMV offices and facilities were closed. Then one...

    Random CEL/Low Fuel dings?

OK, so the other day I was sitting at a light when the dings happened, so I was able to fully stare at my dash when the second one went off, and it's apparently my washer fluid b/c the odometer flashed to say "lowwash" or "washlow" for like .5 seconds.

    Random CEL/Low Fuel dings?

So maybe 2x a month, after I have been driving like 10-20 minutes, I get a random/sometimes 2 "dings" from my Libby. They aren't the EVIC beep-beep-beep, but the single low fuel/check engine light noise. It's very distracting because instantly my eyes go from the road to the dash to see if...

    Roof mounted fog lights

I recall from a episode of Modern Marvels that after Hurricane Katrina, not a single sign that was attached with VHB tape was blown away. Every sign that did **** away was held on with screws

    Disable Airbags 03 KJ

According to the recall(s), excessive electrical noise may cause the airbag ECM to deploy the airbags.

    Disable Airbags 03 KJ

And I know it's an anecdote, but I had the recall done and now my airbag light is stuck on. Not sure if that means they won't fire when I need them to, which is probably worse than having one fire off out of no where.
