Isn't there a tech bulletin about something like this? I found it and printed it out to give the shop on the first come-back but they ignored it.
Thanks
Mark
So does everyone agree that cyl leak down over night is silly as an excuse for cyl2 mis, as do I? When the compression on all cyl including #2 is fine?
OK, I kinda fell off the Jeep online universe for over a year. Back now with additional important question... After we got the jeep back it seemed to run fine but within the week threw a Cyl2 mis code that will not go away. Also at this same time we were aware the idle started going low while...
Thanks! Finally a definitive answer! I assumed that but was lead astray by someone who said it was car specific (some cars give that info and some don't). Now I can go out and purchase the right one. Can anyone recommend a (non-commercial) brand that will provide this exact info on a 2005...
Hard to believe though that you could replace bearings for the noise and have the noise continue with a new even possibly bad bearing. You would think it would at least change the noise. I am betting it isn't the bearing.
Well it doesn't matter if your scanner is $2 or $2000. If the jeep computer doesn't provide this info then you wont get it. My point is, my scan tool provides this information on other cars, just not on the jeep. I was told it was car-specific - meaning (I think) the misfire information...
Trying to watch the misfire count on a cylinder real time. Can't find it on my obdII scanner. Call the scanner manu and was told it is car specific. Is this true? I have a 2005 Liberty with the 3.7 Has anyone ever ever done this? Is it true Chrysler didn't build the entire OBDII monitoring...
Turns out it may not need a new cat to fix the re-occurring (with increasingly shortening interval) P0420 code. The shop thinks the water going through the system may have thrown off the O-sensor. Every since the heads were fixed the code went away. Running like a top!
You can pull coil wires off one at a time to depower each cylinder. This sometimes helps isolate it to a particular cylinder if it is piston, wrist pin or rod related.
It was losing a small bit coolant through both heads. #2 and #4 on one side and #5 on the other. Getting intermittent missing on multi cylinders. It only happened on cold early morning starts. Otherwise ran like a top. Cooling system held pressure over night (witnessed by pressure in the...
Engine is purring like a kitten. Mechanic finds the oil pan almost rusted through. What is it with these weird Jeep problems? Oh well... add the new oil pan to the list.....
Had our Libergade since last September or so. Been a good rig. Bought used with lots of trouble codes. 99% of them caused be cam sensor. P0420 keeps returning and the interval is shortening so I knew it needed tending to after Winter. Also a seam on the muffler is giving way so that needs...
My 2005 has only one port - passenger side as you found. I have NEVER heard my fuel pump. Even when trying to hear it. I just changed my fuel pump module a couple months ago and found mine did not have the trapdoor under the carpet. So I had to drop the tank, and hitch, and skid plate to get...
Much cheaper to get a fuel pressure gauge and check pressure at the rail before ordering a fuel pump. Fuel pump can be a big job if you don't have the access plate (earlier models) and have skids and hitch.
I have NEVER heard my fuel pump. Both my original and the new one. YMMV.
Though was comparing a "lifted properly" jeep to one with new replacement suspension components at the stock height. Not the stock sagged-a$$ components. Maybe I didn't state that clearly. With all else equal (parts quality, suspension stiffness, etc) the non lifted vehicle will out-handle...
