Me again Just did mine yesterday and I used a small cheap pencil type soldering iron and reached in and melted the plastic into small enough pieces to get out the hole. That said be careful that you do not melt a hole through the lens .

Same thing happened to me on my 05 I am going to try and reach in there with some pliers and see if I can remove the plastic piece maybe bust it up in small enough pieces to remove it .
I did not rplace the Tensioner or the idler or the water pump just the timing belt as I did not plan on keeping the car at the time. It took me and a friend who is a mechanic one afternoon to do it about 5 hours start to finish...

I just did mine on my 2005 2.4 and used a pair of vice grips to hold the cams in proper position and made sure I double checked to make sure they did not move before reinstalling every thing.
Only had one wee bolt left over ....

Is the timing in order. My 2005 would crank but not start and it was the timing belt was missing quite a few teeth.
I have the 2.4 engine.
Replaced belt and Walla started right up
I have a 05 with the 2.4 gas motor and my timing belt went on me. It did not break but had many teeth missing from the belt so ultimately died on me. Did not damage anything. Timed the cams correctly put new belt on fired right up.
Pain in the butt removing everything to get to the belt but...
I resolved the problems with the fuel gage by by buying a Diagnostic tool and clearing the codes.
Got over 100 miles on this tank of gas and no problems so far.

The gas gage reads correctly for about 50 miles and then beeps and goes to empty and the CEL comes on. After about 2 more starts the gas gage reads correctly till the next fill up. I always fill up so I can keep track of gas mileage. The CEL used to go out after maybe 5 starts but stays on all...

I have a 05 with the 2.4 engine and a 6 speed and I get 20-21 MPG in the hills of Central West Virginia. It does ok on the hills as long as you keep the RPMs up but it does take bit of downshifting as well. I have 96 k on the odometer. There are times when I even pass other vehicles Yee Haw.
