you could use a 9volt battery and see which way makes the factory speaker move outward away from the magnet. Then mark the wires, and hook the aftermarket speaker up accordingly.

In reply to the previous post... I beleive that the tank is small to affford better departure angle clearance. The rear area of the KJ is fairly small in comparison to many other SUV's.
