I'd probably move the throttle by hand from the engine bay and see if the revs go up smoothly. It does sound like it could be the TPS.

Replaced my passenger cv, half shaft and hub today. No more pop pop pop in 4wd. I'll save the other side for another day.

I've had SMP coils in for a couple years and tried both Bosch platinums and NGK coppers and can't tell any difference, other than the platinums last longer.
