Just want to show off my first experience with custom bumper.
Everything starts from the moment when i had a little crash in slippery track in this winter. Yeah, shit happens ... but this accident accelerated my long-standing plans to replace the bumper (probably with winch or as minimum with placeholder for a winch).
Ok.

The reason to make my own bumper is not just because of price of ARB model (in my country ~ $1.5K) but rather my artistic nature. Running beforehand in the end my price was ~ $500.

I started browsing in all forums and sites to figure out the best one for pleasing my eyes. Finally the idea was taken from "liberator" jeep (just google if u r interested in).
So, I designed 3D model (meanwhile learned SolidWorks tool):

In two iterations of fitting the model was corrected:

The idea for mounting was taken from winch mount here:

After laser cutting welding works began:

to be continued ...

That looks really good. I love how it looks like it should have been a factory option. I'd say one of the best made by a member.

Nice work and it blends in with the front of the jeep well.

Lancer, I doubt the OP is still around, he was last logged in on 10-02-2013, but you never know, sometimes members will set up an email notification when someone replies to a subscribed thread. Now, I also like the bumper, but I'll be critical on one aspect, I would not have the fog light openings like this, I would prefer the fog light cut out to completely encircle the lights, but otherwise, pretty good!
