I notice we post deals from time to time, so thought it might be good for other Canadians if we put up a thread or two for deals we find. So welcome to the official Canadian Tire sale thread.

We're all well aware of staff, stock and service issues so let's try to keep a level head and not get caught up (too much) with gripes or bashing Chinese made goods. It'd be good to have reviews or advice on items that are "loss leaders" and deeply discounted the coming week to know if even on sale they're worth purchasing. Also an interesting venue to see what areas of Canada get better deals - some sales tend to be regional but not often.

Oh yes - Jeep related items mostly perhaps?

Good place to start is to subscribe to the main CT site and set up sale alerts you get in advance of sales by email. The other obvious place is the flyer - if you burnt it already check:

Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil jugs 4.4L 20% off:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brow...l%2B1%2BSynthetic%2BMotor%2BOil.jsp?locale=en

NOTE: Unlike some brands that market 5L jugs, this one comes up a bit short of the required 4.7L required with a change + filter. Factor that into price and also ensure you have enough to complete your change.

Mastercraft 76 piece tap & die set 70% off:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/p...older_id=1408474396672077&bmUID=1298219719968

NOTE: Goes on sale a couple times a year - only buy on sale and seriously consider the Maximums. Have broken a couple taps in this set and you have to be careful lubing well and backing out slowly and carefully. Really useful to have any tap set in a pinch when overdrilling or stripping and such.

Scissor Jack 3300 lb red 50% off:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/p...older_id=1408474396672077&bmUID=1298219901809

NOTE: Slightly taller than your stock jack, easier to stow under rear seat or in emergency box and dirt cheap.

Sea Foam Motor Treatment - limited stock promo :

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brow...BMotor%2BTreatment.jsp?locale=en#BVRRWidgetID

NOTE: Finally a place that has Sea Foam nearby. Am going to try it before next oil change this spring. Hope they decide to carry it permanently and it goes on sale from time to time.

Mitch, I work part time at the local Canadian Tire to help with my J-E-E-P addiction, the 4.4L jugs of everything are being slowly put on sale to get rid of them. All of the new stock, Mobil 1 included is showing up in 5L containers.

Loss leaders >= ******

Right on - I knew the CT addicts would come outta the woodwork! It's not just my habit... it's like the Canuck crack. :smoke2: My Canadian Tire Options Mastercard gets more chip insertion than an Intel assembly line - and Paypass on it it's Tim Horton's wave and go double-double every stop I make. If they really get rid of Canadian Tire money it's the end of an era - what'll we tell our Nintendo-controller-hand-implanted grandkids? :mario:

Good idea Mitch... at my house I have Canadian Tire, the wife has her Shoppers Drug Mart... we're all happy! ;)

I browse the flyer online every week so I'll be sure to note anything I come across in this neck of the woods! I've picked up some decent stuff at 70% off lately.

March 4-10

So this Saturday March 5 only get a $10 gift card if we spend $40+

http://flyer.canadiantire.ca/canadiantire/default.aspx?action=entryflash&

Here are some considerations:

Simoniz Orbital Polisher, 10-in 50% off:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/p...older_id=1408474396672077&bmUID=1299256056181

Note: 30$ -This is what it's worth... should come with a few more bonnets but a good deal nonetheless.

Motomaster Eliminator Intelligent Battery Charger 75/25/4A 50% off:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/p...older_id=1408474396672077&bmUID=1299256178631

Note: Already have their older version with same fast or trickle - this looks a bit smarter with auto maintenance mode to leave seasonal AGMs and marines all winter without overcharging.

Mastercraft Maximum 38-piece Impact Socket Set 60% off:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/p...older_id=1408474396672077&bmUID=1299256354541

Note: Got it a couple years ago same price. Worth every penny just clean them right away they're oiled at the factory and it seeps into the nice case liner if you don't.

Mastercraft Breaker Bar With Ratchet Head 50% off:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/p...older_id=1408474396672077&bmUID=1299256550241

Note: About the same price as the Princess auto version when it goes on sale. This with a length of pipe is all you need for the worst forcing. Got it last sale for the ratchet style in tight quarters forcing upwards.

Jobmate Heat Gun - 2/3 off! :

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brow...D~0546502P/Jobmate%2BHeat%2BGun.jsp?locale=en

Note: Saw this on the RSS feed, not in the flyer. Cheap, but hey for $11 why not for something you use infrequently. Have a few jobmate junk tools that have actually held up well despite apparent quality... Will be replacing the hair dryer that was burning the wife's hair and ended up in the garage.

Also noted most hammers and bars are 60%, grinder sets and cutoff wheels 60% and many socket sets, wrench sets, tap&dies and drivers 60-70%.

Haven't been doing my job, been too busy in the garage! (Feel free to step in here ;) ) Noticed Mobil 1 and other Mobil stuff like filters is on sale again 25% off. Will be getting a M1-209 filter at that price totally worth it to spoil the Jeep with better than Motomasters.

And this is going under my rear seat...

Motomaster Farm Jack, 3-ton - 40% off!:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brow...ster%2BFarm%2BJack%252C%2B3-ton.jsp?locale=en

Note: Have been looking at various hi-lifts and just need one now... ARB adjustments... so this is it. Would go brand name but less than half the price and will not keep it outside so should hold up fine.

EDIT - The Meguiars Gold Class wash and waxes are 25% ... grabbed all of 'em for a warm spring day... someday.

Heads up!

Duplicolor Perfect match rattlecans and scratch pens are 20% (which brings them down to the online Plasticote price before shipping)

Stocked up for all my vehicles... can attest for you silver Liberty owners that Chrysler PS2 Bright Metallic from CT is a near perfect match. (Prep is everything and the Duplicolor clear is a must at least a couple coats yadda yadda)

And I thought I was Can Tire Happy! Jeeze Mitch you are almost as bad As I am.
I got 3 of those chargers back when they were sale at Xmas, they work ok but I like the CTEK ones as real compact and can be mounted in Jeep with ring terminals for $49.

Check out the maximum 14 piece combo wrench set that finally went on sale for $24.99 regular I think $60-70.
Now I got spares in metric and SAE great price and nice quality tools. Now that is all I buy when they are on sale is Maximum stuff. Lifetime Replacement.

Thanks on the wrench set - grabbed it yesterday on sale end to have some longer necked metrics. Also filled the holes in my tap set with the 70% off tap and die Maximums... hopefully they break less than the regular CT ones did.

This week got a lot of wicked coupons on Mobil 1, Lucas, Power Service, Gumout, STP products! :pepper: ENJOY:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/affiliat...16393067&et_rid=418634686&linked=Auto+Coupons

That and the Lincoln MIG140 is 25% off again... when to bite the bullet and get a good welder...

(Want the 180 but is not as portable due to power requirement and need to run new 230V in the garage)

Mitch Thanks for heads up on coupons!
If you are doing any kind of heavier metal welding the 240V is best. Why not run off dryer with extension?
Glad u scooped wrenches that is a deal for sure.
Bought a couple of extra of those $9.99 flashlights today..like em.

Maximum 163 Ratchet Set Compared

Well I added another set to carry around today. This time I got the 163 piece that has the top quality Ratchets & sockets in Maximum Line.
I like the smaller case compared to the 233 set which is quite a bit larger, but then has larger sockets and 70 more pieces.
The quality of the Maximum tools are very good, 250 piece is also available.
The 163 piece on sale sometimes $129 or a bit less, reg. $270

Hex Driver's & Adjustable Wrenches!

What can I say they had at this store a good 5 piece adjustable wrench set on sale for $14.99 (reg $54.99) wow what a deal!
I like having an adjustable in all the wheels I drive so 5 is good....
and also I was in need of larger hex drivers above 7mm this set is up to 14mm.
The Stanley FatMax comes with metal box and is their pro series.
Got them for half price at $20 so that is a deal too.

Edit: A first I had considered some multi tip screwdrivers with 7 bits.
Then I realized that a bit driver set would also help work in conjunction with tips found in the larger socket sets.

The hammer was on sale for $12 and the 47 piece bit drivers were on for only $7.99 each
