So now all our personal information has been compromised and President Trump can have the dissidents among us hunted down and rounded up like stray dogs??....I suspected as much..."you can run in your Kj, but you can't hide, hippie!"...

The forum, from what I saw, was not hacked. It was a DNS/redirect issue.

Semantics. People understand "hacked" they just don't always understand hacking. In any case, bad guys took control and caused visitors to jeepkj.com to be redirected to one of several different websites for nefarious purposes.

As a webmaster, I understand there are a number of ways the bad guys could accomplish what they did. I don't know how it happened here. It's prob'ly not important for everyone to know exactly what happened, but visitors should know that the possibility exists that information could have been compromised - either through direct access to the site's database or because of what could have happened upon being redirected.

Warning members about this should be standard procedure. It wasn't an aw-shucks-twern't-nuthin issue. It WAS somethin'.

Jim
