Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Will ride like a$$,wearout the new coils faster, also drastically effects braking(front brake wear).

Buy new front shocks,no point putting new coils in with 12 year old shocks.Total waste of $$$ and time/effort.

If you are going to the trouble of fitting new springs, fitting them to 12 year shocks is a waste of money. Buy new shocks as well, you will really be glad you did.
