Well, things didn't quite go as planned while pressing in my new set of MOOG K3199s. Wrong receiver cup size being used as the boot pressed through the bottom of the LCA (Lower Control Arm) created a lip the boot and large snap ring pinched against resulting in this. NOT what one wants to see after pressing out, then in.

*Note to self: In the future, remover boot before pressing ball joints, then reinstall after.

Needed everything put back together for alignment and back on the road same day as this is my daily driver.

So... I headed to my local parts house. Of course they had another $67 MOOG. Why wouldn't they? Great stuff. No replacement MOOG dust boot though. I also compared a $27 Chinese knock off.

Similarities in the boot were close enough for my eye, so grabbed the cheep part.

Headed home. Swapped the dust boot onto the already pressed in MOOG.

We'll see how this lasts.
