With breeze now coming form the ocean...
Some blue sky and less smoky conditions were present today for the first time in almost 2 weeks!
Rain is expected overnight in form of showers.
That may help clean the air so we can breath better & get rid of the smoke for now!
I will not miss....

Leaves are falling, days are getting shorter. Constant rain has knocked the tall grass down and the sandhill cranes are getting ready to leave. It's not summer any more.

Leaves starting to drop here too, but mainly because of them drying out/- still no rain..
Worst fire season ever in BC history. Over 1 million hectares of forest and many homes destroyed.
Insurance claims for vehicles is 1/2 a million $ so far. ( I wonder how many lost their Jeeps?)
I hope we get some major rain soon & put the fires out especially in the interior of BC.
Smoke has not returned to the coast, but if the winds change again it may invade again.

Your rain is in Houston; They're ready to negotiate.

Are your fires out?

Breezy overcast day here like it has been for a month. It'll rain as soon as I start working on something outside. Leaves are doing their lemming thing.

Started feeling like fall here over the weekend. Has gotten a little warm at times on one or two days, but overall it feels like the cool air is moving in to stay for a while.

Feels like fall here. Getting into the lower 50s/upper 40s at night. Leaves are changing, lawn only needs to be mowed once a week. Dry as hell. Breezy.

This summer has been pretty mild and dry. Had one huge storm but I can't tell you the last time it rained or when it was over 80. Good summer. Ready for snow and get back on the slopes.

Have I mentioned I'm tired of rain?
