Right front. I have a major noise when I hit a bump that is coming from the right front. I assumed ( Ass/U/me ) that it was the shock inside the coil spring, so I ordered one and waited for it to come in. $60 through my parts guy. My mechanic and I (wifes' cousin's fiance) take the whole damn thing apart to find that it is not the shock, it is the rubber thing that the shock bolts to on the top. Has a metal sleve that has torn out of the rubber.

A. What is this thing called?
B. Can I get one?
C. How much money?
D. Normal wear and tear?

Thanks.

I believe what he looking for is the upper strut mount. Think they're about $70 give or take. Yes they can wear out. Should be able to get one without a problem.

My front set up is not the same as the ones in the picture. The giant washer in the middle on the very top does not exist on mine. Although that is the location of the problem. My jeep has a small lift on it that came off of a Rubicon.
