Looking at buying a 2006 liberty sport 2wd. I know it has 140,000 miles. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have the front suspension check out upper and lower ball joints. Control arm bushings. Look for rust inside lower on doors, around 3rd brake light. Measure from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender flare. It should measure 19 inches. If less then it needs new shocks and springs.

See if it's had transmission work done, specifically the torque converter. Take it to a transmission shop and get the CVIs read (clutch value indexes). If it hasn't been maintained, the trans will need to be rebuilt.
