Thought I would ask this to the panel of experts.

I recently replaced my rear rotors and pads.
I started hearing high tone grinding noise, to me i thought it was metal on metal.
I thought it might be the parking brake shoes hitting the hat of the new rotor.
I turned the star wheel all the way down to see if that stopped.
It sort of did.
I checked the piston its working fine.
I am assuming its break in noise I am hearing?
Its not as aggressive as it was but I hear it on both sides and it doesn't stop when I press the break.
Thoughts?

I had the same thing when I got my new pads and rotors on the rear. I consulted with the shop that put them in and they said it was break in noise. They were correct and it eventually went away. :happy107:

Watch yourself, did you make sure the shoe material wasn't coming apart. Happened to mine, and my brother in laws just happened. His was worse bound up while driving and destroyed the backing plate. Guess what its a dealer only item. Double check to be safe.

Be extremely careful of that parking brake, it heated up the new rotor and melted the pads when I did mine
