Heater Motor Resistor Information / Blower Fault

I have a 2004 Jeep Cherokee 3.7 Ltd and my heater controls would only work on position no 4; the forum helped me diagnose faulty heater motor resistor.

Jeep (Mopar) Part No: 1-05139719AA

The part is made by Valeo and has the following printed on it:

IRC TF308
929433R

Valeo 0351 Mexico

It took me a maximum of 10 minutes to fix needing only a 8mm socket to remove the two locating bolts, hardest part was removing the multi-plug.

Cost of the part in the UK was £34.00 which includes 20% tax!!

I have seen on one of the Jeep forums that the knowledgables replace the resistor pack with a more robust one from some other Chrysler vehicle...I must try find that post!:freak3:

Cannot find the exact post either, IIRC it was that of a Sebring (PN 5174124AA).

I have a couple of 05139719AA and they have 'MADE IN USA' printed on the box
but yes, they are Valeo made in MX. Anyhow, at least IMHO, better so than China...

I have the same issue with my 2006 cherokee here in the UK, where can you buy these replacement resitors? Is it main dealer only?

had same issue few years back. i bought mine at the dealer. was something like $19.
