I've noticed some coolant residue on the tank, below, for a few months, but the level has remained unchanged. I flushed, replaced pump, hoses this time last year. I checked the oil every change for milkiness, no telling coolant residue. The temp gauge always hands steady a tick below the center.

Today, I noticed some coolant odor, popped the hood and see the upper small hose bubbling. I squeezed the upper and lower, flow seems to be good and not blocked. Confused as to what's occurring here.

Your Stant cap is only rated to 13 psi Mopar = 16 psi, get a new Mopar cap & see if that solves the problem.

Now that you mention that, I seem to recall reading this previously. Thanks for the reply, I will check with the dealer.

EDIT: paid over the phone and my wife will grab it on her way home

My dealer wanted $92 for a cap. No shit. :D Bought a stant one locally for $5 then ordered a Mopar one. Make sure you get the same PSI as the original. 16PSI. Some will sell you an 18PSI one.

My '02 came with a 18psi cap from the factory, what they are supposed to be and why running a OE cap blows out aftermarket radiators so fast which are only rated for 16psi.
