Blend door actuator problem on 2002(2/02) Jeep Liberty . Blend door goes full cold and full hot. However, it will not return to cold from full hot until the ignition is turned off and back on. Any ides?
What I've done: I pulled the dash and air box, opened box and verified proper operation of blend doors, installed a customized door position indicator that's viewable from outside the box, installed new blend door actuator and calibrated using the 5 sweep method.
Also: there's only a couple spots between full hot and full cold where the actuator will rest on the in-between (9 oclock, 12, 1, and 3). I think this issue may be an indication of a worn pernometer in the head unit. I'm mostly concerned about it not returning from 3 oclock (full hot) without cycling the ignition.
