I have purchased a backup camera.

I'm not sure where to mount it as I don't want any "metal to metal" contact which may result in rusting.

Does anybody have any suggestions where to mount it.

It's not a license plate mount camera.

Thanks in advance!

I mounted mine so it faces the ball on the hitch and that gives me a great view and makes towing a lot easier by your self.

i mounted mine in the bumper between the hitch and the bottom of the spare tire - just needs a small hole drilled out, sealed with silicone.
